THE OEX GROUP PUBLISHES ITS RESULTS FOR Q1/2021.

OEX S.A.
13 May 2021

The OEX Group ended the first quarter of 2021 with results that turned out to be among the best in its history. Consolidated EBITDA amounted to PLN 15.7 million, which was an increase of 71.6% when compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. Its largest portion was generated by the eCommerce Services segment. The profit attributable to the shareholders of OEX S.A. went up significantly, reaching PLN 4.5 million.

‘We are very pleased with the results achieved. The performance growth was recorded in all the operational segments. Owing to our consistently implemented strategy of building services and technologies in the area of commerce digitization, we are beneficiaries of the development of the e-commerce industry. The eCommerce Services segment generated the largest portion of the Group’s EBITDA. The Retail Services area companies met the challenges caused by the pandemic and adapted their business to current conditions and constraints, ensuring the earnings growth,’  said Jerzy Motz, President of the Management Board of OEX S.A.

The eCommerce Services segment generated nearly PLN 63 million in revenue, which was 44.5% higher than a year ago, while EBITDA rose by 108% to PLN 8.9 million.

The eCommerce Services segment saw a considerable increase in the scale of its operations and, at the same time, their profitability also improved considerably. The segment’s EBITDA margin was over 14%, while in the first quarter of 2020 it was 9.8%,’  added Jerzy Motz

The performance of the Retail Sale Network Management segment went up when compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, but the first quarter of 2020 does not provide a good basis for comparison due to the mall store shutdowns caused by the first lockdown and a significant reduction in the sale volumes in stores that still remained open. The segment’s EBITDA amounted to PLN 7.4 million, which constitutes a hike of 70.2% and, at the same time, makes up for 40.7% of the total EBITDA of the Group’s all three operational segments.

The Sales Support segment achieved a significant EBITDA rise when compared to the first quarter of 2020, despite the negative impact of the epidemic restrictions imposed on business areas related to field promotions and marketing campaigns. With a 5% increase in revenue, the segment’s EBITDA went up by 18.8% to PLN 1.9 million.

At the end of the first quarter of 2021, the Group had available cash of PLN 35.9 million.

‘Our financial situation is good, and we want to continue to develop our business in the existing areas but also invest in technologies and our innovation projects,’ added Jerzy Motz, President of the Management Board of OEX S.A.
